Wisp Gallery is a lightweight, filterable gallery plugin for the WordPress block editor, for photographers, artists, agencies, venues and shops, and for designers building client sites. Add the Filterable Gallery block, pick one of five layouts (masonry, justified rows, grid, carousel and accordion) and let visitors filter by Gallery Categories, with animated filter changes. A native dialog lightbox supports captions, swipe and keyboard navigation. It starts at about 3 KB of JavaScript with no jQuery, built on core blocks and the Interactivity API. Free importers bring galleries over from Envira Gallery, NextGEN Gallery, Modula and FooGallery, with replacement shortcodes so existing pages keep working. The complete plugin is free on wordpress.org; Pro adds videos, albums, load more and WooCommerce products in the lightbox.
